Exam Rules

 

RULES TO BE FOLLOWED BY STUDENTS BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER EXAMS

(1) Exams are held at the time and in the exam hall specified in the exam schedule announced on the website of the relevant academic unit. Once the exam schedule is announced, students are personally responsible for keeping track of the day, time, and classroom of their exams.

(2) Students must be present in the exam hall at the exact start time of the exam. However, students who arrive at the exam hall within the first 15 minutes after the exam has started are also admitted to the exam. No additional time is granted to these students. Students arriving later than 15 minutes are not admitted to the exam.

(3) Students who do not have a student ID card or a valid student certificate issued for the current semester are not admitted to the exam hall.

(4) Students must unconditionally comply with the requests and warnings of the exam proctors regarding seating arrangements and the maintenance of exam order. Exam proctors will issue an incident report for students who do not follow instructions, which will serve as the basis for a disciplinary investigation.

(5) Students must come to the exam hall equipped with necessary writing materials, such as pens and erasers. Students may bring resources specifically permitted by the instructor for use during the exam. Aside from these, they are not allowed to bring any items such as mobile phones, lecture notes, or textbooks into the exam hall. If brought, mobile phones must be turned off, and lecture notes, textbooks, and other items must be placed out of the student's reach during the exam. Exam proctors also have the authority to take mobile phones, lecture notes, textbooks, and other materials under their supervision to maintain exam security.

(6) It is strictly forbidden for students to exchange materials such as pens, erasers, calculators, etc., with each other during the exam.

(7) The exam is officially considered to have started once the exam proctor verbally announces the beginning of the exam.

(8) Students must write their personal identification information completely on their exam and answer sheets. For multiple-choice exams, students must fill in the required personal information on the optical forms, correctly code the booklet type, and mark their answers on the optical form. The student bears full responsibility for any disadvantages or grievances arising from the failure to complete these steps or doing them incorrectly.

(9) Students may not engage in behaviors that disrupt the order of the exam, such as talking to surrounding students, looking at another student’s exam paper, showing their exam paper to another student, ignoring the proctor's warnings, arguing with, insulting, or threatening the exam proctor, or consuming food or drinks in a disruptive manner.

(10) During the exam, utilizing any resource not explicitly permitted by the course instructor, looking at another student’s exam paper, showing one's exam paper to another student, exchanging information verbally or in writing with another student, using a mobile phone, and similar actions are considered cheating. A student who engages in such behaviors will be asked to hand over their exam paper to the proctor and leave the exam hall immediately. A disciplinary investigation will be initiated against students attempting to cheat, based on the issued incident report.

(11) Except for mandatory emergencies, students are not allowed to leave the exam hall during the first 15 minutes following the start of the exam. If the signing of the attendance sheet is not completed within this timeframe, the exam proctor may extend the mandatory duration students must remain in the hall.

(12) The exam is officially considered finished once the exam proctor verbally announces the end of the exam. Following this announcement, students must promptly submit their exam papers to the proctor.

(13) Students cannot leave the exam hall without signing the exam attendance sheet and handing their exam papers to the exam proctor.

(14) Once students have submitted their exam papers and left the exam hall, they may not re-enter the hall or wait in the corridors until the exam has completely ended for everyone.

(15) Exam questions or answers cannot be written down on a piece of paper, photographed with a mobile phone, taken out of the exam hall, or distributed to others. Actions of this nature are considered an attempt to cheat, and a disciplinary investigation will be initiated against the student.
